Software Engineer, AML, AI & Data Platforms

What you'll do

• Develop and deploy innovative AI models and systems to enhance the performance of Apple's products and services.
• Build robust, scalable ML infrastructure including data storage, processing, and model serving components for production environments.
• Create novel frameworks for feature engineering, data augmentation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning across specific domains.
• Design and implement automated ML pipelines for preprocessing, training, hyper-parameter tuning, and model evaluation.
• Apply advanced model compression and optimization techniques to reduce the resource footprint of large language models.
• Develop AI solutions that integrate generative AI and machine learning into internal enterprise systems.
• Manage the full lifecycle of model deployment including monitoring and refresh management.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of machine learning engineering experience in feature engineering, model training, serving, monitoring, and refresh management.
• Experience developing AI/ML systems at scale in production or high-impact research environments.
• Knowledge of common frameworks and tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in Python and writing efficient SQL queries.
• Strong coding skills and familiarity with software engineering principles like testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Experience with transformer models such as BERT and GPT, including an understanding of their underlying principles.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Superset, Streamlit, Tableau, Business Objects, or Looker.
