Software Development Engineer II, Amazon Leo joins the Amazon Leo team to build a global e-commerce experience for Internet Service Provider customers. This role focuses on developing the backend-for-frontend layer, which orchestrates complex backend systems for satellite internet, including ordering, payments, billing, equipment, and network provisioning. You will design and build backend gateway APIs in Java, routing requests across downstream services while handling partial failures, retries, and timeouts to maintain high reliability and low latency. Key responsibilities include translating between different service models, performing code reviews, and using agentic development workflows and generative AI tools with AWS native services. 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
5+ years of programming experience using a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
Experience testing back end services.
6+ years of full software development life cycle experience (preferred).
5+ years of experience contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (preferred).
