Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Build new web-based monitoring and visualization platforms for health research studies.
• Develop backend systems and data analysis pipelines to ensure high-quality data collection.
• Integrate LLM-based agentic workflows and APIs into production web tools.
• Design and build tools that provide real-time insights into study health and data quality.
• Partner with researchers and stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize platform features.
• Lead design reviews and mentor other engineers on technical and product roadmaps.
• Handle sensitive health data while upholding strict privacy-first policies.
• Use LLMs within the development lifecycle for planning, architecture, and deployment.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent with relevant experience with biomedical, health, or sensitive data.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong software development skills with proficiency in Python.
• Experience integrating LLM-based functionality (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic APIs) into production web tools.
• Experience leveraging LLMs in a closed-loop development workflow from planning to deployment.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years in backend web service development (preferred).
• Experience building web application backends for data monitoring and visualization using frameworks like Flask or FastAPI (preferred).
• Experience with distributed data processing systems like PySpark and SparkSQL (preferred).
