As a Software Engineer IC2 on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s (OCI) Root of Trust team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of secure system-management firmware and software for OCI servers. Your day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and testing low-level embedded firmware alongside developing higher-level Java and Python tools that enable safe interactions between OCI services and RoT devices. You will collaborate with hardware partners and service teams to ensure robust security features, participate in product development cycles from prototype through release, and continuously improve the reliability and maintainability of codebases. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, Java, and Python, familiarity with Linux environments, and experience with embedded systems and firmware design. This position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure technologies at scale, addressing critical security needs for OCI’s bare-metal hardware offerings.

What you'll do

Develop and enhance secure system-management firmware and software for RoT hardware.
Build Java and Python tools, libraries, and automation for OCI services interaction with RoT devices.
Participate in product development from prototype through implementation, validation, release, and operational support.
Analyze existing code to identify defects and improve reliability, maintainability, and security.
Contribute to control plane client-adjacent workflows including REST API interactions and service integration.

What we're looking for

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or Bachelor's with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in embedded systems, systems software, firmware, or hardware-adjacent software development.
Strong programming skills in C/C++, Java, and/or Python.
Familiarity with Linux development environments, scripting, debugging, and source control workflows.
Ability to learn new codebases, diagnose technical issues, and collaborate across diverse teams.
