What you'll do

  • Triage, diagnose, and resolve technical issues for fielded imaging systems across hardware, network, and software layers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for high-level escalations from customer support and field personnel.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, diagnostic tools, and self-service documentation to eliminate recurring manual fixes.
  • Identify and document software defects to hand off clearly defined issues to the engineering team.
  • Translate field data into actionable feedback to improve system observability and reliability for future products.
  • Provide remote technical support to non-technical operators during live deployment and troubleshooting sessions.
  • Manage a structured on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability for critical fielded systems.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, field/systems engineering, or production support of deployed hardware/software systems.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals including troubleshooting networking issues like IP, routing, and VPNs in constrained environments.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries involving networking, services, and hardware interaction.
  • Willingness to participate in a structured on-call rotation including after-hours and weekend coverage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote troubleshooting with non-technical operators and documentation.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Experience supporting fielded or deployed systems, hardware/sensor systems (EO/IR, optical), and sensor calibration (preferred).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash), Nix/NixOS, systemd management, and incident tooling like PagerDuty (preferred).
