NVIDIA’s Hardware Infrastructure team is hiring a Senior System Software Engineer to lead the development and evolution of their next-generation Data & Observability Platform. This role involves architecting high-performance telemetry pipelines, building policy enforcement systems for data governance, focusing on user experience through modern web interfaces, optimizing storage solutions for cost-effectiveness, and driving platform automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack software development with expertise in Python, JavaScript, React, Go, Rust, and Kubernetes deployment using Helm or Terraform. Experience with observability platforms like Apache Spark, Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK stack is essential, along with knowledge of streaming technologies and data lake formats. This position requires a deep understanding of time-series databases and experience in migrating legacy systems to microservices architectures.
Design and build centralized telemetry pipelines for massive scale data ingestion.
Implement policy enforcement systems for data governance and secure credential management.
Develop modern web interfaces and APIs to unify observability signals into a seamless user experience.
Optimize storage architectures with tiered solutions to reduce costs while maintaining multi-year retention.
Architect workflow orchestration systems to automate platform maintenance and complex pipeline operations.
Extend observability platforms like Grafana, Elastic/Open Search, and Apache Spark at scale.
What we're looking for
8+ years of full-stack software development experience focusing on data platforms or infrastructure tools.
Proficiency in high-performance backend systems and modern frontend web frameworks (Python, JS, React).
Expertise with observability platforms like Apache Spark, Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK stack at scale.
Experience deploying complex stateful services on Kubernetes using Helm, Terraform, or Ansible.
Familiarity with event streaming and modern data lake formats, including custom Grafana plugins in Go.
Background in migrating legacy systems to microservices architecture or vector-based pipelines.
