Build and ship services to improve database reliability and performance.
Implement automation for provisioning, configuration changes, backups, and routine operations of databases.
Enhance observability by adding metrics, logs, and alerts for storage systems.
Diagnose and resolve production issues related to latency, capacity constraints, and availability.
Contribute to engineering standards for secure database connectivity and usage guardrails.
What we're looking for
Strong experience building and operating backend or infrastructure systems in production environments.
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational database concepts, schema design, indexing, query performance, and replication fundamentals.
Proficiency in Go or Rust with the ability to quickly learn existing codebases.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containers (Kubernetes), including hands-on operational skills for on-call duties and incident response.
Familiarity with system observability practices, including metrics, logs, tracing, and performance measurement.
