Senior Software Engineer, Satellite Command and Control

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end architecture, design, and deployment of Space C2 services for production use.
• Develop backend services in Go using gRPC/Protobuf for command, telemetry, and mission management.
• Manage infrastructure and operations on Kubernetes within secure government cloud environments.
• Integrate software with physical hardware including radios, antennas, and space-to-ground data links.
• Build and run software-in-the-loop simulations to validate operations before live missions.
• Integrate modern capabilities into legacy defense systems to support DoD and IC customers.
• Lead incident response, on-call rotations, and the creation of monitoring metrics for live systems.
• Mentor other engineers and maintain high code quality through rigorous peer reviews.

What we're looking for

• Strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 8+ years of experience building backend and distributed systems using Go, Rust, or C++.
• Proficiency in developing networked services using gRPC and Protobuf.
• Proven experience architecting, shipping, and operating production services on containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating software with physical systems, including hardware control, embedded interfaces, or real-time data pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to own production services end-to-end from design through operations.
• Ability to work independently to solve complex technical problems and mentor other engineers.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
