Senior Software Engineer Guest & Host

What you'll do

• Design and build backend services and APIs that enforce identity and privacy rules across product surfaces.
• Develop migration tools to move service and client code away from legacy identity patterns safely at scale.
• Define and evolve authorization logic for context-scoped data access based on specific user relationships.
• Create robust infrastructure and data models that ensure high correctness in security-critical systems.
• Partner with internal product teams to provide usable and secure privacy primitives.
• Perform root-cause analysis to debug and resolve complex production issues.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high standards of correctness for critical codebase components.

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architecture, API design, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience working within a microservices environment using RPC frameworks, service IDLs, and dependency injection.
• Experience designing systems with correctness and authorization as first-class concerns.
• Track record of shipping migrations or infrastructure changes that other teams depend on while ensuring backward compatibility.
• Strong written communication skills to document problems, root causes, and trade-offs.
• Ability to translate complex, evolving requirements into concrete technical designs.
