Senior Software Engineer, Compute Platform

What you'll do

• Design and deliver software solutions in Go to enhance Reddit’s compute infrastructure.
• Develop Kubernetes controllers and operators for automated cluster management and workload scheduling.
• Build core tooling and SDKs to manage network configurations and compute capacity across multi-region fleets.
• Optimize intra-cluster performance by developing reactive schedulers and node-level characteristic detection.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the stability of global scale systems.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of experience in internet-scale software development with a focus on infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Proficient in Go, with proven track record building and managing Kubernetes services at scale.
• Expertise in Linux internals, including multi-tenancy primitives like cgroups and namespaces.
• Active contributor to the open-source community within infrastructure or CNCF domains.
• Self-starter capable of troubleshooting complex cross-system issues independently.
• Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
