Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform / Semantic Layer

What you'll do

• Design and build APIs for AI consumption that expose business concepts and metrics instead of raw tables.
• Develop logic to transform business questions into validated, governed queries with appropriate access controls.
• Integrate and query both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) data sources through governed access.
• Enforce security protocols in the serving path by handling data sensitivity and routing to governed views.
• Build tooling to ground the platform in real usage by surfacing frequently queried datasets and metrics.
• Develop backend services using REST or gRPC with a focus on latency, reliability, and authentication.
• Write code that generates or compiles complex queries for semantic layers or query builders.

What we're looking for

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related STEM field, plus 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree, plus 6 years of experience.
• Experience shipping production REST or gRPC services with authentication and authorization (preferred).
• Demonstrated API design for AI/agent consumption, such as tool-calling interfaces or RAG backends (preferred).
• Working fluency across both OLTP and OLAP systems (preferred).
• Strong SQL skills, including experience writing code that generates or compiles queries (preferred).
• Experience with semantic layers, enterprise data warehouses, Rust, Python, or knowledge graphs (preferred).
