TL;DR · Senior Software Developer, Security, Elasticsearch

Senior Software Developer - Security - Elasticsearch joins the Elasticsearch Security team to architect and design core features including authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation. The role involves developing foundational security models, optimizing performance in distributed systems, implementing cryptographic solutions, and ensuring robust data isolation within shared infrastructure. You will manage vulnerability triage using AI-driven tools and collaborate with internal teams to embed security into new features from the start. Key requirements include deep knowledge of Java internals, JVM memory management, and concurrency models to write high-performance, thread-safe code. Candidates must understand distributed systems security, edge identity protocols like OAuth 2.0 and SAML, and have experience building scalable authorization systems. The role addresses the challenge of providing high-performance security for a distributed data store while managing complex requirements like zero-trust transport and large permission sets.
