The Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Sentry Tower joins the Sentry Tower Software team to develop robotic systems providing force protection by monitoring perimeters for people, vehicles, and vessels. You will build and maintain software for current and next-generation systems, owning feature development such as SITL/HITL, security requirements, and sensor integration for cameras, GPS, and ADSB. You will design software for human and autonomous planning agents, architect custom real-time communication and middleware systems, and create APIs for robotic arm movements. The role requires proficiency in the robotics system stack, including low-level hardware interfacing and high-volume data processing. Key technologies include Rust, C++, CAN and Ethernet protocols, Wireshark, CANoe, Nix, and CMake. You will solve the problem of overwhelming sensor data by leveraging advanced sensor fusion and autonomy.

What you'll do

Own feature development and rollouts for current and next-generation Sentry Tower systems.
Integrate sensors such as cameras, GPS, and ADSB into the robotic platform.
Create APIs for actuating robotic arm movements and refining build systems.
Design and implement software to support operation by human and autonomous planning agents.
Architect and scale custom real-time communication and middleware systems.
Ensure service functionality, reliability, and alignment with customer objectives.
Submit well-documented, tested pull requests addressing critical team issues.

What we're looking for

Proficiency navigating the robotics system stack or deep expertise in low-level software and hardware interfacing.
4+ years of experience working with Rust or C++.
Solid grasp of networking principles including CAN and Ethernet protocols.
Expertise in hardware interfacing, diagnostic tools like Wireshark and CANoe, and cybersecurity principles.
Demonstrated experience designing and building software for high-volume data processing and sophisticated sensor data analysis.
Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
Experience with modern build systems like Nix or CMake and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
US person status required with eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
