Senior Python Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain modular Python services and REST APIs for the EDGE V4 Calculation Engine.
• Translate complex scientific formulas and business rules into accurate, testable software components.
• Build secure RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Pydantic, and structured request-response models.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including SQL queries, indexing, and transaction management.
• Improve application performance through caching strategies, asynchronous processing, and scalable service architectures.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, regression, and API tests using PyTest.
• Create technical documentation, API specifications, and deployment guides to ensure system auditability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and implement logging, monitoring, and production support processes.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of professional Python development experience delivering enterprise-grade backend applications and services.
• Expertise in Python, Object-Oriented Programming, modular architecture, software design patterns, dependency management, and PEP 8 standards.
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, OpenAPI/Swagger, API authentication, request validation, and versioning strategies.
• Strong experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
• Experience with Pydantic, PyTest, Importlib, caching frameworks, and configuration management.
• Proven ability to translate complex formulas, scientific calculations, and business logic into deterministic software components.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, containerized platforms, and cloud-native architectures (preferred).
