As a Senior Principal Software Developer at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in Austin, TX or Nashville, TN, you will join the Merino team as a key individual contributor, leading the design and implementation of core CI/CD capabilities for OCI’s internal change workflow platform. You will leverage Java, TypeScript, Python, or Go to drive improvements in reliability, scalability, observability, and the overall developer experience while mentoring engineers through design reviews and technical leadership. This role requires extensive experience with distributed systems, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud services, as well as a strong background in operational excellence and engineering rigor.

What you'll do

Lead the design and implementation of core Merino platform capabilities for OCI-scale CI/CD.
Own architecture, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support for Merino systems.
Drive improvements in workflow reliability, safety, scalability, observability, and developer experience.
Break down complex platform problems into manageable engineering solutions.
Use customer feedback to prioritize and enhance platform features continuously.
Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
Champion the use of AI-assisted coding workflows while ensuring rigorous engineering practices.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on distributed systems and CI/CD.
Strong programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar languages.
Experience operating reliable cloud services in OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Expertise in CI/CD, DevOps, release automation, IaC, containers, orchestration, and deployment pipelines.
Ability to lead technical initiatives through ambiguity and competing priorities.
Strong communication skills for stakeholder influence and mentorship.
