The Senior Principal CIAM Architect serves as a technical leader within the Customer Identity and Access Management function, overseeing identity services for customer-facing digital products and platforms. This role involves defining architecture strategy, leading solution design, and ensuring operational excellence across CIAM platforms. You will partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant identity solutions. Key responsibilities include establishing technology architecture standards, evaluating emerging identity standards, and managing platform security, availability, and monitoring. The role requires expertise in information security engineering, cybersecurity, and software development to solve complex identity problems for external users. You will utilize skills in designing large-scale consumer identity solutions while collaborating with vendors to support proof-of-concept initiatives and maintain enterprise-level security standards.
Lead the architecture, design, and technical strategy for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platforms.
Define and maintain technology architecture standards, reference models, and design principles for CIAM solutions.
Translate business and technology requirements into scalable, secure, and operationally sustainable identity solutions.
Provide technical leadership for the evaluation, selection, implementation, and enhancement of identity technologies.
Ensure platform security, availability, performance, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness across CIAM environments.
Establish and maintain technical, operational, audit, security, and support documentation in accordance with enterprise standards.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and identity standards to drive continuous improvement and future-state planning.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex issues, assess new capabilities, and support proof-of-concept initiatives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, software engineering, or related disciplines.
5+ years of experience as a Technical Architect for a CIAM or IAM enterprise platform.
5+ years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting identity and access management solutions at enterprise scale.
5+ years of experience in information security engineering, cybersecurity engineering, or software development.
Active CISSP certification or comparable industry-recognized security certification (preferred).
2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a comparable platform ownership role (preferred).
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
