Senior Manager of Software Engineering, Research & Development for the NEO and BRIE Platforms

What you'll do

• Provide direction, coaching, and career development for a team of 4–5 software engineers.
• Own the research and development agenda for the NEO agent runtime and BRIE data platforms.
• Lead structured technology evaluations and proofs of concept to produce architectural and security recommendations.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Set and scale operating practices for SDLC automation and measurable engineering outcomes across multiple teams.
• Review and debug code and designs to guide critical technical decisions.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Manage team resources, budgets, and tactical operations while communicating trade-offs to senior leadership.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading and coaching teams of technologists.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, or Rust.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Experience with query federation, policy engines, OLAP stores, or LLM/RAG architectures (preferred).
