Senior Manager, Data Scientist - US Card joins the US Card data science organization to focus on the customer management business. You will manage the full lifecycle of model development, including design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation. To uncover insights within large volumes of numeric and textual data, you will utilize a technical stack featuring Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark. The role requires expertise in relational databases and advanced statistical techniques such as clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning. You will translate complex technical work into tangible business goals while solving problems related to large-scale data processing and automated decision-making.

What you'll do

Build machine learning models through all phases of development including design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
Use Python, Spark, H2O, and AWS to extract insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data.
Develop real-time customer behavioral predictions and valuation forecasts for the customer management business.
Translate complex technical findings into tangible business goals for non-technical stakeholders.
Manage and mentor team members while fostering talent development across the organization.
Retrieve, combine, and analyze data from diverse sources and structures to solve large-scale problems.
Partner with engineers and product managers to deliver high-quality products for customers.

What we're looking for

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 7 years of experience performing data analytics.
A Master's degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics.
A PhD in a quantitative field plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics.
At least 2 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
At least 2 years of experience working with machine learning.
At least 2 years of experience utilizing relational databases.
A PhD in a STEM field plus 4 years of experience in data analytics (preferred).
Experience with AWS, managing people, or at least 5 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R and machine learning (preferred).
