As a Senior Manager in Caterpillar’s Connectivity organization, you will lead the data and AI transformation by defining and executing analytics and automation strategies that enhance connectivity quality and engineering efficiency. Your daily tasks include translating complex engineering problems into actionable AI initiatives, developing scalable data products on the Cat® Helios platform, and ensuring proactive data governance. You will leverage modern data platforms, ML/AI tools, and MLOps concepts to drive innovation across on-machine, off-machine, dealers, and enterprise consumers. This role requires strong people leadership skills, technical judgment, and experience in leading analytics and AI initiatives in complex environments, with a focus on connected systems, telematics, and IoT data.

What you'll do

  • Define and own the Connectivity Analytics strategy aligned with Caterpillar’s Helios platform capabilities.
  • Lead development of connectivity data products on Helios, ensuring scalability and compliance.
  • Apply AI/ML capabilities to improve fault detection, predictive insights, and service readiness in engineering workflows.
  • Manage a portfolio of analytics initiatives across Connectivity Quality, Validation, Engineering Efficiency, and Service Solutions.
  • Establish standards for responsible AI and ensure sustained adoption from pilot to production.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, or related quantitative field
  • Strong experience leading analytics and AI initiatives in complex engineering environments
  • Proven people leadership managing managers and technical professionals
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern data platforms, analytics tooling, and ML/AI delivery patterns
  • Experience with connected systems, telematics, IoT data, or embedded/on-machine plus cloud ecosystems
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem structuring skills
  • Understanding of MLOps/LLMOps concepts including monitoring, drift, retraining
