Senior Manager, Applied Machine Learning, Vice President

What you'll do

• Define the data science vision, strategy, structure, and roadmap for the organization.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data science professionals and potential future leaders.
• Oversee the design, development, and production deployment of ML, AI, and statistical models.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into feasible technical problems and scalable solutions.
• Communicate data-driven recommendations and results to senior stakeholders in an easy-to-understand way.
• Ensure the robustness and reliability of all data science solutions.
• Influence prioritization and timelines by communicating technical tradeoffs and project results.

What we're looking for

• Master's Degree with 8+ years or Doctorate (PhD) with 6+ years of experience as a data science professional in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience developing statistical, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence models.
• Deep understanding of math and theory behind AI/ML algorithms, including model assumptions, behavior, and limitations.
• Proficiency in data science programming languages like Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SparkML, and data table operations like SQL or Hive.
• Demonstrated relationship building skills and the ability to influence outcomes through positive influence.
• Advanced expertise with Time Series, Optimization, and Operations Research techniques (preferred).
