Senior Manager, Applied Machine Learning, Vice President

What you'll do

• Define the data science vision, strategy, structure, and roadmap for the organization.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing data science professionals.
• Oversee the design and development of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Statistical models.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into technical requirements and feasible machine learning solutions.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of solutions from initial experimentation to production deployment and monitoring.
• Communicate complex data science results and recommendations to senior stakeholders in an easy-to-understand way.
• Influence project prioritization, timelines, and outcomes by communicating trade-offs and technical results.

What we're looking for

• Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience or a Doctorate with 6+ years of experience in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience developing statistical, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence models.
• Deep understanding of the math and theory behind AI/ML algorithms including model assumptions and limitations.
• Proficiency in data science programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience with big-data technologies like Hadoop and Spark, plus familiarity with SQL and Hive.
• Advanced expertise with Time Series, Optimization, and Operations Research techniques (preferred).
• Skills in NLP, Neural Nets, or experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).
