What you'll do

  • Build high-throughput data access and loading primitives to feed large GPU and TPU fleets.
  • Develop Python and Rust data libraries and SDKs for transforming and loading model-ready datasets.
  • Build and operate distributed data pipelines using Spark, Daft, and Rust-based systems.
  • Manage petabyte-scale data ingestion, immutable versioning, lineage, and governance for multimodal data.
  • Integrate dataset access directly into the data-loading layers of PyTorch, JAX, and TensorFlow.
  • Onboard new data sources to support foundation-model and GenAI workloads for research and product teams.
  • Diagnose and automate issues across ingestion pipelines, dataset APIs, and framework integrations to maximize throughput.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of work experience in machine learning infrastructure, distributed data systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping data or ML infrastructure and systems in production.
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and a systems language like Rust (preferred), C++, or Go.
  • Experience operating production systems including monitoring, observability, on-call, and incident response.
  • Hands-on performance engineering for I/O-bound workloads using Arrow, zero-copy, memory mapping, and async I/O.
  • Familiarity with columnar and lakehouse formats such as Parquet, Iceberg, Delta, or Lance.
  • Deep experience with data-loading layers of PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow (preferred).
