As a Senior Lead AI Engineer (LLM Gateway, FM Hosting) on the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and deploy proprietary AI solutions that enhance internal workflows and customer interactions. You will design, test, and support critical software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, and observability. To achieve these goals, you will utilize a technical stack featuring PyTorch, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and AWS Ultraclusters while implementing optimization techniques to improve performance metrics like latency and throughput. The role focuses on the core challenge of building scalable, high-performance AI infrastructure and advanced LLM systems within the banking sector. You will leverage Python, Go, Scala, or Java to solve complex problems involving large-scale production AI systems and state-of-the-art research applications.
Design, develop, test, and deploy AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference.
Implement similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, and observability for production AI systems.
Develop state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
Integrate open-source and SaaS technologies like Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch into the infrastructure.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
Translate complex scientific research and novel techniques into practical production applications.
Lead and mentor an engineering team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders on AI initiatives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with 6 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms.
Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with 4 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms.
At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Experience designing, developing, and supporting complex AI systems including LLM inference, similarity search, and vector databases.
Experience optimizing training and inference software to improve hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
Ability to lead and mentor an engineering team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong communication skills to articulate complex AI concepts and technical findings clearly.
