  • Improve the operation, logging, and telemetry of Elasticsearch cloud systems.
  • Manage end-to-end operational investigations to resolve critical performance or stability problems.
  • Lead large-scale technical projects across multiple engineering teams.
  • Support support engineers by resolving high-complexity technical issues.

What we're looking for

  • Proficient in core Java including the standard library of data structures and concurrency constructs.
  • Experience with low-level Java such as concurrency, parallelism, and classloaders.
  • Proficiency in algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience crafting APIs and reasoning through technical tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and practices like Buildkite, Argo CD, and GitOps.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale projects across engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code.
  • Knowledge of JDK internals, Go, containers, Kubernetes, or Gradle (preferred).
