Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Mainframe

What you'll do

• Administer and maintain the IBM z/OS operating system across development, test, disaster recovery, and production environments.
• Manage infrastructure performance, capacity, and security controls including vulnerability remediation and audit compliance.
• Perform incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management for complex infrastructure issues.
• Develop automation scripts using Assembler, REXX, Python, JCL, and Ansible to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain disaster recovery readiness and support business continuity testing initiatives.
• Design scalable IT system infrastructures and implement software-defined infrastructure in CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and coach other engineers on the design, development, and maintenance of systems.
• Create technical documentation, engineering runbooks, and standard operating procedures for internal teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 6 years of infrastructure experience with a deep understanding of mainframe infrastructure and z/OS.
• 4 years of experience in creating, modifying, and maintaining infrastructure and individual system components.
• Advanced business acumen regarding operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends.
• Knowledge of designing scalable IT systems, implementing changes, or automating service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience working with cloud technologies and tools.
• Assembler programming skills for development and debugging (preferred).
• Experience with SMP/E, RACF security, Dump Analysis, and VSAM administration (preferred).
