- Own the full development cycle for major projects including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Write and review code and design documents while providing feedback on product specifications and mocks.
- Drive the planning, development, and implementation of critical projects across Reddit's web architecture.
- Promote a culture of metrics-led execution with a focus on operational excellence and system observability.
- Mentor engineers to grow their technical expertise and contribute to standards that improve developer workflows.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop product and engineering roadmaps.
- Build novel features for high-traffic feed pages using front-end technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS.
What we're looking for
- 6+ years of software development experience in front-end focused programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
- Experience with front-end web frameworks such as LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular and CSS.
- BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating in a remote environment with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and designing maintainable APIs (preferred).
- Understanding of large scale web applications and techniques to accommodate high RPS and complex pages (preferred).
- Experience with social media platforms is a huge plus (preferred).
