TL;DR · Senior Flight Sciences Engineer - Tactical Reconnaissance and Strike Division

As a Senior Flight Sciences Engineer in the Tactical Reconnaissance and Strike Division, you will join a team dedicated to developing aerial drones and their operational equipment. Your primary responsibilities include aerodynamic design and analysis for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools and low-order methods. You will also develop high-fidelity flight simulation models and validate them against wind tunnel and flight test results. Additionally, you will plan and execute tests to evaluate aircraft performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement. The role requires expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, C++, and a strong understanding of aerodynamics and flight dynamics. This position supports the development of cutting-edge navigation solutions for autonomous drone fleets operating in contested environments.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate guidance and control laws for autonomous drone systems.
  • Conduct aerodynamic design and analysis using CFD tools and low-order methods.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-fidelity flight simulation models.
  • Plan and execute wind tunnel tests to gather aerodynamic data.
  • Analyze flight test data to identify system bugs and performance trends.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience with airborne platforms.
  • Proven experience in aerodynamic design and analysis, flight simulation, and testing.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CFD tools, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent simulation platforms.
  • Expert level programming skills (MATLAB, C++, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, stability, and control principles.
