Senior Data Engineer, Music Services Operations Analytics & Strategy

What you'll do

• Architect and deploy scalable, modular data pipelines to process billions of records for Apple Music.
• Integrate AI-enabled tools, LLMs, and RAG pipelines into existing data systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Build robust validation frameworks and automated monitoring to ensure high data quality from third-party feeds.
• Deliver structured, high-performance datasets with clear SLAs to support data scientists and cross-functional partners.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into resilient engineering solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead the transition toward self-service analytics by enforcing strict CI/CD practices and mentoring peers.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or systems architecture managing production data at massive scale.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL with expertise in distributed processing frameworks like PySpark/Spark.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled data infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in data quality management, including automated anomaly detection and resolving complex taxonomy mapping issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions within a matrixed organization.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with AI-enabled tools, LLMs, RAG pipelines, and open table formats like Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
