RF Requirements and Standards Engineer

What you'll do

• Define and manage RF requirements for Apple's cellular platforms and products.
• Develop RF requirements for 6G cellular technology features in coordination with internal teams.
• Drive product-driven innovation into the 3GPP RAN4 standards.
• Research emerging spectrum trends and RF architecture evolution for next-generation networks.
• Align 3GPP RF specifications with Apple’s strategic goals.
• Explore and develop RF requirements specifically for 6G technologies.
• Define RF roadmaps including ecosystem and 3GPP scoping.

What we're looking for

• BSEE degree is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in RF, including transmitter and receiver architectures and system design.
• In-depth knowledge of cellular radio standards (GSM, UMTS, LTE, NR), regulatory requirements, and carrier requirements.
• Experience in RF roadmap definition, including ecosystem and 3GPP scoping towards requirement definition.
• Participation in 3GPP RAN working groups, particularly RAN4 (preferred).
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills to thrive in a multi-functional environment (preferred).
• Experience in simulation development, scripting, and incorporating AI/ML tools into engineering practices (preferred).
• Deep understanding of digital communications theory, cellular network design, and antenna array theory (preferred).
