Research Intern, Machine Learning and Statistics

What you'll do

• Conduct research on advanced machine learning topics such as generative models and transfer learning.
• Develop theoretical frameworks for optimal transport and stochastic control in ML contexts.
• Engage in causal inference studies within machine learning applications.
• Investigate deep learning techniques for unsupervised and supervised learning tasks.
• Collaborate on projects related to reinforcement learning and adversarial machine learning.

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled or accepted into a PhD program in relevant STEM fields.
• Strong background in machine learning, statistics, mathematics, or related areas.
• Ability to develop original research agendas independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-group collaboration.
• Interest in working with specific Microsoft Research New England researchers.
