As an R&D Software Engineer within the Monitor Group, you will join the team responsible for core CPU and memory virtualization technology used in VMware Cloud Foundation products. What you'll do

Develop and maintain virtual CPU and memory aspects of the virtual machine platform.
Implement new CPU feature enablement and x86_64 instruction set virtualization.
Design and deliver features for hardware accelerators and power-aware compute technologies.
Develop memory management and interrupt architecture features for monitor modernization.
Write low-level system software using C and assembly to handle machine-specific constructs.
Propose and define the technical design roadmap for the virtual machine monitor architecture.
Lead technical efforts and drive engineering projects within the Monitor Group.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience.
PhD in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience.
Experience in C and assembly programming.
Experience working in the kernel and/or virtualization space.
Proficiency in x86_64 CPU architecture.
Must have legal authorization to work in the US.
