As the R&D Security & Export Control Risk Manager at ASML, you will join a critical team ensuring compliance with global export control regulations and maintaining information security for sensitive intellectual property in a highly regulated environment. Your daily responsibilities include identifying and assessing risks related to R&D activities, collaborating with Legal & Compliance teams to interpret EAR, ITAR, and EU Dual Use requirements, and supporting technology classification efforts. You will also drive risk reduction programs and maintain an integrated overview of export compliance risks, reporting to stakeholders regularly. This role requires a strong background in information security or cybersecurity, ideally with experience in AI, Cloud, and DevOps security. Key skills include translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable controls, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to build bridges between R&D, IT, and Legal domains.
Identify and assess export control risks related to R&D activities.
Interpret EAR, ITAR, and EU Dual Use requirements for R&D workflows.
Support technology classification efforts and ensure proper handling of controlled technologies.
Lead security or compliance incidents involving export-controlled technology in R&D.
Drive export compliance improvement programs and advise on risk reduction strategies.
Perform information security risk assessments on new initiatives and projects.
What we're looking for
At least 8 years of experience in information security or export compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, International Trade, Law, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing technical and regulatory risks.
Experience with AI, Cloud, and DevOps security is a plus.
Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable controls for engineers.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for diverse partners.
