Principal Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the definition, development, and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with long-term business implications.
• Perform Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to evaluate technologies and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Create and manage technical roadmaps that align with department strategy and long-term business goals.
• Define and lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes to ensure incident-free deployments.
• Mentor team members through knowledge sharing sessions on new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks.
• Manage project scope, requirements, and timelines throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements by integrating security standards into the SDLC.
• Develop documentation templates and enforce standard practices across all development artifacts.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise with Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.
• Proven track record in selecting and implementing methodologies with a focus on Lean methodology.
• Superior coding background with Java/Spring or Python.
• Required technical skills include AWS and Databricks/Snowflake.
• Experience using AI to shape application designs while understanding associated risks (preferred).
• Extensive background in delivering secure solutions in the Financial Services Sector (preferred).
• Experience in vendor relationship management, selection, RFI/RFP process, and SOW (highly desired).
