The Principal Cybersecurity Engineer joins the C5ISR Center Cyber Security Service Provider team to provide technical leadership for a mission-critical environment supporting the Department of War. This role serves as the primary technical interface to the Government lead for Enterprise Cybersecurity, overseeing architecture, engineering, modernization, and technology integration. The engineer will design and implement complex enterprise systems, lead feasibility studies, and conduct research and development to strengthen the customer's cybersecurity posture. Key responsibilities include assessing risks across on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and multi-cloud environments while guiding migration strategies. Required skills include expertise in NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP frameworks, along with experience in threat management and security controls. Candidates must possess a CISSP certification and demonstrate proficiency in evaluating vendors and communicating complex concepts to executive stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design, architecture, integration, and implementation of complex enterprise cybersecurity systems.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to Government stakeholders on cybersecurity strategy, risk, and modernization.
  • Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies and lead feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and pilot programs.
  • Assess enterprise cybersecurity risks across platforms, access controls, networks, applications, and data environments.
  • Guide cybersecurity modernization initiatives to migrate services and data from on-premises to hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
  • Identify security-relevant data and technologies across on-premises and cloud environments to provide formal technical recommendations.
  • Influence technical and organizational change by communicating complex cybersecurity concepts to executive and technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI and SAP eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 12+ years of relevant IT/cybersecurity experience.
  • Four additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience directly supporting the Federal Government.
  • Extensive experience developing migration strategies for services, applications, or data from on-premises to hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal cybersecurity requirements and frameworks including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
  • Additional certifications such as CISM, CISSP-ISSEP, GSLC, or CCISO (preferred).
  • Active Top Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain a SCI.
