Principal Associate, Ontology and Data Modeling

What you'll do

• Develop, implement, and govern enterprise ontologies and optimized data models in consultation with stakeholders.
• Contribute to data integration and mapping efforts to harmonize data with upper and domain ontologies.
• Communicate and advocate for the value of ontologies, semantics, and data standardization across the business.
• Partner with Technology and Machine Learning teams to integrate semantic technology into products and services.
• Analyze and implement knowledge organization strategies using tools for machine learning and semantic enrichment.
• Develop standards, guidelines, and direction for ontology, data modeling, and general data standardization.
• Test and troubleshoot new or updated models and systems.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments related to ontology use, data modeling, and machine learning.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, computational linguistics, or a combination.
• Master’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics (preferred).
• At least 3 years’ experience in a metadata field of work or a master’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years’ experience or training in W3C standards including linked and canonical data and ontologies (JSON, XML, RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SKOS).
• At least 3 years’ experience or training in ontology and linked data tools such as Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World.
• At least 3 years’ experience with SQL, SPARQL, or a combination.
• Familiarity with graph databases, Python, R, JSON, OpenAPI/YAML, AVRO, and Amazon Web Services (preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and methodologies (preferred).
