Principal AI Systems Engineer, C++ / Applied AI

What you'll do

• Build native C++ infrastructure to connect product codebases to AI services and model-backed workflows.
• Design execution interfaces, schemas, and validation layers for AI-driven actions.
• Develop high-performance C++ components for client-side infrastructure including session management and concurrency.
• Create evaluation frameworks for AI workflows involving automated testing, scoring, and human review loops.
• Establish safety guardrails, fallback paths, and observability tools for production AI features.
• Lead technical strategy and architecture decisions through documentation and cross-functional alignment.
• Mentor engineers on C++ best practices and the integration of AI systems into product code.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant depth in C++.
• Expertise in modern C++ design, memory management, concurrency, and systems-level performance.
• Experience building or maintaining large, mature, and performance-sensitive codebases.
• Experience developing cross-platform software for environments such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs, agents, or model-backed systems into production software.
• Practical understanding of AI system failure modes like hallucination, non-determinism, and unreliable outputs.
• Strong systems architecture skills including technical strategy, tradeoff analysis, and documentation.
• Ability to lead through influence across engineering, product, design, and data science teams.
