TL;DR · Principal Agentic Workflow & AI Engineer, Biologics Discovery

As a Principal Agentic Workflow & AI Engineer within the Biologics Discovery team, you will architect and build the agentic layer of a specialized data engine to automate secondary processing and orchestrate analyses across the design-make-test-learn cycle. You will develop real-time pipelines connecting automation software, data stores, models, and compute environments while translating scientific priorities into technical roadmaps. The role requires expertise in agentic AI, LLM-based agents, retrieval-augmented approaches like RAG or GraphRAG, and workflow orchestration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is semantically consistent and AI-ready. This position addresses the challenge of automating complex biologics data flows to reduce manual intervention and improve reproducibility in drug discovery. Key technical requirements include experience with MLOps, production-grade monitoring, and integrating heterogeneous scientific instrument outputs into scalable, automated systems for faster therapeutic development.

What you'll do

  • Design and build agentic workflows to automate secondary data processing for biologics discovery assays.
  • Build real-time pipelines connecting automation software, data stores, models, and compute environments.
  • Partner with enterprise teams to integrate GenAI platforms and agentic frameworks into discovery workflows.
  • Ensure all automated data is high-quality, traceable, semantically consistent, and AI-ready.
  • Develop closed-loop feedback systems to improve downstream property models and decision-making in the DMTL cycle.
  • Set technical direction and standards for agentic workflows while mentoring engineers and data scientists.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging agentic AI methods and tools to guide team investment.
  • Translate complex scientific priorities into scalable automation roadmaps and technical solutions.

What we're looking for

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related computational field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience building scientific workflow orchestration and automation software.
  • Experience with agentic workflows and technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience designing real-time data pipelines for complex and heterogeneous scientific data.
  • Experience applying agentic AI and LLM-based agents to scientific or laboratory workflows.
  • Experience building on enterprise GenAI platforms using retrieval-augmented approaches like RAG or GraphRAG.
  • Ability to translate scientific objectives into scalable technical solutions and set direction for others.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
