What you'll do

Drive the roadmap for Presto engine improvements including query planning and coordinator scalability.
Define strategy and milestones for transitioning from Java workers to native C++ execution in Presto.
Contribute to federated query strategies and connector ecosystem development for diverse data sources.
Partner with reliability engineering teams on multi-tenant workload management features like resource groups and admission control.
Work closely with BI and analyst teams to enhance end-user experience based on engine capabilities.

What we're looking for

Extensive experience with open-source Presto or Trino in a production environment.
Deep understanding of Presto/Trino architecture including coordinator, worker, and connector SPI.
Hands-on experience with multi-tenant query systems and workload management strategies.
Familiarity with federated query strategy across various data sources and connectors.
Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships across BI tooling, data science, and engineering teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience with Presto native workers or Java-to-C++ migration surface.
