We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Presto team in Austin, Texas, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Presto query engine. Strong familiarity with Presto/Trino internals, connector development, and disaggregated architectures is essential for this role.

What you'll do

Drive the roadmap for Presto engine improvements including query planning and coordinator scalability.
Define strategy and milestones for transitioning from Java workers to native C++ execution in Presto.
Contribute to federated query strategies across various data sources using Presto connector SPI.
Partner with reliability engineering teams on multi-tenant workload management features like resource groups.
Work closely with BI and analyst teams to enhance end-user experience based on engine capabilities.

What we're looking for

Extensive experience with open-source Presto or Trino in a production environment.
Deep understanding of Presto/Trino architecture including coordinator, worker, and connector SPI.
Experience managing multi-tenant query systems with resource groups and admission control.
Familiarity with federated query strategy and connector development tradeoffs.
Hands-on experience with BI tooling and translating engine capabilities to end-user needs.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
Knowledge of Presto interactions with Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi for consistent reads.
