What you'll do

  • Lead all aspects of engineering and technical execution for the Places Data team.
  • Integrate AI/ML techniques with software engineering to solve complex map data challenges.
  • Architect a sophisticated ML-centric data platform for processing large-scale information.
  • Develop models ranging from large-scale data center solutions to lightweight edge solutions.
  • Process, interpret, and contextualize unstructured data including text, photos, and 3D imagery.
  • Define goals and shape product roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical and career mentorship to empower team members.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to engineering partners, product managers, and executives.

What we're looking for

  • 15+ years of experience leading engineering teams applying statistical and ML methods to process large, complex datasets.
  • Experience in domains such as Algorithms, Architecture, AI, Data Mining, Deep Neural Networks, Distributed Systems, or Information Retrieval.
  • Experience in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Unstructured Web Data.
  • Strong foundational understanding of linear algebra and statistics for modern machine learning.
  • Familiarity with databases, SQL, and scripting languages.
  • Proven ability to translate requirements into implementation and lead teams to achieve results.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in Maps Data, large-scale model deployment, or publishing research papers (preferred).
