ML Data Research Scientist

What you'll do

• Define research topics and data strategies aligned with model performance and product requirements.
• Design and run controlled experiments to evaluate how data collection methods affect model convergence.
• Develop new methods to collect, label, and interpret multi-modal human data.
• Translate research insights into reliable ground truth specifications and improved collection protocols.
• Characterize the practical and statistical limits of sensors, protocols, and annotation pipelines.
• Conduct A/B tests on collection methodologies, sampling strategies, and labeling schemes.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for data pipelines and dataset design.

What we're looking for

• BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Neuroscience, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in a data-oriented, experimentation-heavy role, ideally supporting ML model development.
• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Neuroscience, or a closely related field (preferred).
• 10 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
• Experience with multi-modal human data and establishing ground truth for such data (preferred).
• Familiarity with human probing/annotation methods and inter-rater reliability techniques (preferred).
• Experience designing data collection experiments and interpreting their effect on model training/convergence (preferred).
• Outstanding communicator and collaborative team player (preferred).
