The Space Sector is hiring a Mission Manager (Manager, Programs 2) to join its leadership team within the Mission Capabilities & Operations Business Unit. This role involves overseeing products that support operator training and force exercises while developing modeling and simulation capabilities for national security. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating responses to RFPs, executing on stakeholder needs, managing concurrent projects, and leading programmatic efforts from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will have experience with agile software development, a background in the defense industry, and strong communication skills. They should be proficient in tools like JIRA and Confluence, possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, and demonstrate expertise in areas such as proposal management, requirements definition, and risk assessment. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing national security through advanced technological solutions.
Oversee responses to RFP/RFI/ROMs for emerging missions and system enhancements.
Manage concurrent projects from inception through completion, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Lead program review sessions with customers to discuss project status and requirements.
Establish design concepts and criteria for product research, development, integration, and testing.
Coordinate with functional leadership to secure necessary resources for successful project execution.
Execute a quality management system emphasizing prevention over inspection and continuous improvement.
Work with business development teams to develop new business opportunities and enhance products.
What we're looking for
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance
Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience or Master’s with 6 years supporting U.S. defense industry
Experience leading tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving requirements as project lead or manager
Proficiency in agile software development methodologies and tools
Strong program management skills including planning, scheduling, earned value management, and resource allocation
Ability to manage communications, resolve issues, and plan scope for complex programs
Previous experience with Modeling & Simulation systems supporting operator training and exercises
