The Microsoft Azure Artificial Intelligence/High Performance Computing (AI/HPC) team seeks a Senior Supercomputing Engineer to develop tools for deploying, monitoring, profiling, and debugging applications on large-scale cloud infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements, optimizing code using AI practices, and driving project plans and release schedules. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, along with experience in cloud computing, virtualization, container technologies, and GPU-based HPC systems. What you'll do

Develop and implement state-of-the-art cloud applications to monitor and manage supercomputing operations.
Identify operational gaps in cloud-native supercomputers and instrument features to enhance system reliability and performance.
Establish best practices for architectural changes that influence the roadmap of AI/HPC software and hardware components.
Optimize and debug code to improve the maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI of AI and HPC applications on Azure.
Proactively seek new knowledge in trends and technical solutions to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.

What we're looking for

Requires Master's in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience (6+ years).
Proficient in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
At least 1 year of experience with machine learning workloads on GPU-based HPC systems.
Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and container technologies required.
Familiarity with AI/HPC workloads, GPU-based systems, and secure software design practices.
