What you'll do

  • Lead the mechanical systems module for GEK1500 and GE426 engines, owning bearing, pressure, and ventilation design.
  • Drive technical decisions on architecture, materials, interfaces, and integration for assigned mechanical systems hardware.
  • Manage cross-functional IPTs to mature and deliver mechanical systems hardware meeting performance, durability, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Define system architectures for oil, fuel, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, ensuring proper engine control integration.
  • Lead the design of ventilation systems including bearing compartment ventilation, cavity purge flows, and cooling air systems.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of mechanical design engineering experience, preferably in aerospace propulsion systems.
  • Proven ability to lead hardware development from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of bearing, pressure, and ventilation system designs.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Experience with rolling element bearings, squeeze film dampers, and rotordynamics.
