As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer at Amgen, you will join the Information Systems team to develop and maintain the site’s manufacturing data ecosystem, aligning it with evolving business needs and technical roadmaps. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing Aveva PI Data Historian activities for system reliability and data integrity, designing technology ecosystems, and supporting automation platforms projects. You will also track industry trends, manage cross-system analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize deliverables and recommend solutions. The role requires expertise in database technologies, integration tools, and IIoT systems such as AVEVA PI Data Historian, MES (Korber), Delta V Automation platform, and Rockwell Platform Automation Systems. Additionally, experience with Agile methodologies, SQL, Web Services/messaging, and SDLC methodologies is preferred. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting, addressing complex business challenges through advanced technology solutions.
Own and support Aveva PI Data Historian activities to ensure system reliability.
Design and craft the technology ecosystem for manufacturing data management.
Manage relationships with Technology service owners and business partners effectively.
Support execution of Technology and automation platforms projects, including risk management.
Track industry trends and deliver insights from external networking opportunities.
Prioritize deliverables and recommend optimal solutions for cross-system analysis.
Elicit and analyze needs from business stakeholders to develop functional designs.
What we're looking for
4+ years experience in manufacturing with expertise in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries.
Proficient in Data Historian (AVEVA PI), MES (Korber), Delta V Automation platform, and Rockwell Platform Automation Systems.
Strong background in IIoT technologies and data integration methods like SQL, Web Services/messaging, and data mapping.
Experience with Agile development methodologies and ability to translate strategic opportunities into executable plans.
Expertise in resolving project issues using technical, project management, and business skills simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry standards for SDLC methodologies and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
