JOB TITLE: Manager, Security Engineering, Identity Access Management
The Manager, Security Engineering, Identity Access Management leads and grows the Identity & Access Management organization. This role involves leading, coaching, and developing a team of security engineers to build high-performing, independent engineering capabilities. You will establish priorities, staffing plans, and operating mechanisms while partnering with technical leaders to deliver secure, reliable, and usable identity capabilities. Key responsibilities include improving execution across IAM migration, reliability, authorization adoption, and workload and machine identity. You must maintain fluency in authentication, authorization, cloud access, privileged access, and access governance. The role requires proficiency with modern identity standards including OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM, as well as infrastructure-as-code and security automation frameworks. You will balance least-privilege security with developer productivity to solve complex identity and access problems.
Lead, coach, and grow a team of security engineers by setting expectations and managing performance.
Establish priorities, staffing plans, capacity tradeoffs, and measurable commitments for the IAM organization.
Translate technical direction into executable plans with clear ownership and durable operational mechanisms.
Improve execution across IAM migration, reliability, authorization adoption, and workload identity.
Set high standards for engineering quality, security, reliability, observability, and incident response.
Balance least-privilege security requirements with developer productivity and usability across engineering teams.
Identify and resolve organizational, technical, and staffing risks early in the development lifecycle.
Oversee the responsible use of AI tools while maintaining standards for correctness and production quality.
What we're looking for
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field.
8+ years of post-bachelor’s security experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad security experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4 years of post-grad security experience.
1+ year(s) of experience as an Engineering Manager.
Experience leading security initiatives related to identity, access management, or cloud security.
Working fluency in authentication, authorization, cloud access, workload identity, privileged access, and access governance.
Experience building or scaling enterprise IAM platforms and cloud access governance solutions (preferred).
Familiarity with modern identity standards and protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM (preferred).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code, security automation frameworks, and partnering with compliance or risk management (preferred).
