Machine Learning Engineer, Video Engineering

What you'll do

• Research and develop state-of-the-art ML models for 3D content creation, spatial video processing, and scene understanding.
• Design and train large-scale generative models using Apple's internal machine learning infrastructure.
• Conduct rigorous experiments to improve the quality of generated 3D scenes and immersive experiences.
• Optimize machine learning models for efficient deployment on mobile and consumer devices.
• Apply advanced computer vision techniques like depth estimation and multi-view geometry to solve complex 3D visual challenges.
• Implement neural scene representations, such as Gaussian Splatting or NeRFs, for video and image synthesis.
• Translate research-driven machine learning concepts into production-ready features for consumer products.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and shipping machine learning models with a focus on computer vision or generative AI.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and PyTorch or equivalent ML frameworks.
• Strong experience with diffusion models for image synthesis, video generation, or 3D generation.
• Solid understanding of 3D computer vision including depth estimation, multi-view geometry, and 3D reconstruction.
• Working knowledge of 3D computer graphics concepts such as rendering and scene representations.
• Working knowledge of C++ for performance-critical components.
• Ability to leverage AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools to accelerate development workflows.
