As a Mid-Level Linux Systems Administrator, you will join a technical team supporting one of the Department of War's largest High Performance Computing environments. You will be responsible for administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems while managing software deployment through Red Hat Satellite. Your daily work involves using Ansible to automate system administration tasks, performing performance tuning, and ensuring all configurations meet established security standards. The role requires proficiency in RHEL, Ansible automation, and Linux scripting using Bash or Python. This position provides critical support for supercomputing resources used by scientists and engineers to solve complex computational challenges within a large-scale computing environment dedicated to supporting the warfighter.

What you'll do

Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
Install, patch, and upgrade Linux operating systems and supporting software.
Monitor system health, capacity, and performance to proactively address issues.
Manage enterprise software deployment and patching using Red Hat Satellite.
Automate system administration and recurring tasks using Ansible.
Troubleshoot hardware, storage, networking, and performance issues in production environments.
Perform system performance tuning and optimization for high-performance computing resources.
Develop technical documentation, configuration records, and troubleshooting guides.

What we're looking for

U.S. citizenship is required.
Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain Interim Secret eligibility prior to start.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
4+ years of relevant Linux Systems Administration experience.
Current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start.
Current Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or CompTIA Linux+ certification prior to start.
Experience with RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible automation, and Linux system performance/security.
Experience supporting HPC, supercomputing, or mission-critical environments (preferred); scripting in Bash or Python (preferred).
