As a Summer Legal Intern supporting Cloudflare’s Policy and Public Sector Legal teams in Washington D.C., you will engage with the dynamic intersection of law, policy, and technology, focusing on AI and cybersecurity. Your daily tasks include tracking emerging AI legislation across North America, monitoring cybersecurity mandates like CISA guidelines and SEC rules, assisting in updating compliance materials for FedRAMP and StateRAMP, and drafting legal memos that align new regulations with Cloudflare’s product roadmap. Ideal candidates are 1L or 2L students at an ABA-accredited law school with a keen interest in technology law, public policy, and cybersecurity, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Cloudflare’s products and knowledge of data privacy laws are bonuses.
Track and analyze emerging AI legislation across North America.
Monitor updates to cybersecurity mandates such as CISA’s Secure by Design guidelines.
Assist in reviewing compliance materials related to FedRAMP and StateRAMP requirements.
Draft legal memos outlining the impact of new tech regulations on Cloudflare’s product roadmap.
Distill dense regulatory text into clear, business-friendly advice for internal use.
What we're looking for
Currently enrolled as a 1L or 2L in an ABA-accredited law school with anticipated graduation in 2027 or 2028.
Strong interest and experience in technology law, public policy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
Excellent legal research and writing skills to distill complex regulations into clear guidance.
Self-starter capable of navigating ambiguity and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Cloudflare’s products and cloud computing infrastructure preferred.
