Lead Software Engineer (Python, Vector Databases, AWS) As a Lead Software Engineer, you will join a team of makers to build the data infrastructure layer powering AI-driven content management capabilities. You will own the Content Hub, a vector and graph database platform for semantic content retrieval. Your daily responsibilities include designing and building indexing pipelines, managing chunking strategies, and overseeing embedding model selection to ensure AI models retrieve accurate context. You will lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers to create solutions meeting regulatory needs. The role requires proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, and Go. You will utilize AWS tools, Docker, Kubernetes, and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases to solve complex problems within a distributed microservices and full stack systems environment.

What you'll do

Design and build the Content Hub vector and graph database infrastructure for semantic retrieval.
Own the indexing pipeline, query layer, and integration with the AI content generation platform.
Build and operate embedding pipelines, including chunking strategies and index refresh processes.
Evaluate embedding model tradeoffs and design pipelines to keep indexes current as content changes.
Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers to create distributed microservices.
Develop robust cloud-based solutions using Python, Java, Go, and AWS tools.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and evaluate code for technical quality.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
Experience with data infrastructure, search systems, or AI/ML engineering (preferred).
Experience with vector databases or embedding-based search (preferred).
Experience with data pipeline engineering, including ingestion, transformation, chunking, and indexing at scale (preferred).
Experience with Python for data pipeline and backend service development (preferred).
Experience with RAG architecture (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree.
