What you'll do

Maintain and optimize the performance and stability of the current Cloudera, HBase, and Kafka production environment.
Design and execute the phased migration of billions of records to an AWS-native serverless architecture.
Refactor data consumers for internal application teams to transition from HBase APIs to new AWS-native access patterns.
Implement and maintain strict data governance, security protocols, encryption, auditing, and lineage.
Transition legacy NiFi and Kafka workflows into cloud-native pipelines using AWS MSK, Lambda, and Glue.
Own the full lifecycle of a high-velocity data ecosystem during a major infrastructure migration.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
Master's Degree (preferred)
5+ years of experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, specifically HBase and NiFi (preferred)
3+ years of experience architecting and deploying AWS DocumentDB or DynamoDB at a multi-billion record scale (preferred)
3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka and AWS Lambda (preferred)
3+ years of experience maintaining live production systems (preferred)
